Santa Cruz Watershed Collaborative Spring Forum

All Day, May 4 to 6, 2022

SCWC Spring Forum May 4 & 6, 1-5pm:
Protecting and improving water quality from uplands to rivers

The spring forum is now open for registration! Register here to reserve your spot in both the virtual forum on May 4th and the field trip on May 6th.

The virtual forum will kick-off with a lively panel of presentations from the Rio Reimagined effort in the Phoenix Valley. Rio Reimagined partners are working together to cultivate a progressive identity for the Rio Salado and its watershed and redefine the river as a community asset for all. Following the panel will be a series of lightening round presentations and small group discussions on pressing water quality issues including the Bighorn Fire, PFAS, trash, and historic landfills.

You will not want to miss our field trip on May 6th, which will include an adaption of the Living River of Words program from Pima County staff and partners specially designed for SCWC. We'll experience one of the beautiful flowing stretches of the Santa Cruz River in Marana, where we'll explore water quality and macro-invertebrates, participate in nature journaling, and learn about riparian plants through a phenology walk. Following the program, we'll all give back to the river through a clean-up effort led by Luke Cole with the Sonoran Institute. After the clean-up, all partners are invited to enjoy cold refreshments and snacks at the Crossroads at Silverbell District Park.

A detailed agenda will be posted by mid April on the Santa Cruz Watershed Collaborative website.
