National Conference on Ecosystem Restoration (NCER)

When

All Day, April 14 to 19, 2024

The National Conference on Ecosystem Restoration (NCER)

planning committee invites you to join us in Albuquerque, New Mexico!

NCER is a premier gathering of ecosystem restoration professionals, bringing together scientists, engineers, policy makers, planners, and partners from across the country.

Where better for us to convene, learn from each other, and advance restoration than in a region facing unprecedented change — the desert Southwest — where communities and ecosystems are on the front lines of climate change and drought.

NCER features four days of small and large scale ecosystem restoration talks and posters.

The conference opens Monday with a plenary focused on the region to familiarize us with the local geography and learn how its challenges relate to those in our respective ecosystems. Concurrent sessions on Tuesday through Thursday feature technical talks on large-scale and small-scale restoration in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems from across the country. Keep an eye out for a Call for Proposals in the coming weeks, and start thinking now about session ideas related to your expertise that would be of benefit to other restoration professionals.

Attendees will reconnect with old friends and make new ones, establish collaborations, discover potential new approaches, and gain valuable experience — just a few of the many benefits of participating in NCER.

The Albuquerque area also boasts a variety of opportunities for optional post conference field trips, and our downtown location offers numerous places to gather and enjoy the nightlife along Route 66 – so plan to have some fun while you’re there!
