Using an Understanding of Stream and Riparian Geomorphic

Sensitivity and Ecological Resilience to Guide Management

April 25 and 27 | 10:00 - 11:00 MT

Join us for the two-part Science for Managers webinar series cohosted by:

  • Dr. Jerry Miller, Blanton J. Whitmire Professor of Environmental Science at Western Carolina University
  • Dr. Mark Lord, Professor of Geology at Western Carolina University
  • Dr. Jeanne Chambers, emeritus senior scientist with USDA Forest Service Rocky Mountain Research Station RMRS emeritus senior scientist Jeanne Chambers.

Part one will provide a framework for assessing and characterizing the geomorphic sensitivity and ecological resilience of upland watersheds based on their predominant processes and the controls on these processes.

Part two will provide a framework for understanding and characterizing the ecological value and hydrologic support for meadows and for identifying key threats.
