When
Streets in Tucson are undergoing an exciting makeover – from green streets to the new complete streets initiative – your neighborhood streets can work for you! Learn about efforts to transform your streets to be shady places for walking, running, and biking, as well as places to slow down and interact with neighbors.
WMG's green infrastructure specialist, Catlow Shipek, will be joined by Living Streets Alliance Director of Open Streets, Kylie Walzak, and Gabriela Barillas, the Livability Planner with Tucson's Department of Transportation and Mobility. They will highlight city programs, neighborhood resources, and tips you can take to steward your own slow and shady neighborhood streets. Green infrastructure is great for our streets, and it supports our arroyos and rivers by reducing pollution and infiltrating stormwater to support groundwater recharge.
This event is organized through the River Run Network. If you are not yet a member, we will add you to the Network when you register for this event. RRN membership is free and gives you access to exclusive creek walks, river restoration workshops, river clean-ups, and advocacy opportunities.
