Thriving Soils: How the Soil Foodweb Helps Our Gardening

When

9 a.m., June 2, 2021

As gardeners we are also, whether we know it or not, caring for a herd of organisms, the microorganisms that live in our soil. Invisible to the naked eye, these organisms have important and dramatic relationships with plants: providing nutrition to plants, defending them from pests and disease, building soil structure and sequestering carbon.

Join us to explore some of the science of plant-microbial relationships and learn some things we can do as backyard gardeners to enhance biological soil health.

Learn how some of these ideas are pushing open a new frontier in agriculture – Regenerative Agriculture.
