National Conference on Ecosystem Restoration

When

All Day, Aug. 2 to 5, 2021

What will a virtual NCER look like?

Many organizations have been hosting virtual conferences over the past year using a wide variety of webinar formats and other high-tech apps but there is rarely significant engagement and interaction with colleagues.

Conferences should be about people talking with each other — sharing thoughts, ideas, lessons learned and success stories.

If you have missed connecting with your restoration colleagues, NCER 2021 provides exactly that opportunity. We promise.

NCER 2021 is diverse and features numerous plenary sessions and concurrent technical sessions with something for everyone, no matter your role, location or area of expertise. The detailed agenda with breakout session speakers will be announced next week!

NCER 2021 features live Q&A with speakers after every talk - in both plenary sessions and technical breakouts.

NCER 2021 will leave each session open for 30-minutes after the last speaker for continued conversation and discussion at the end of every session.

NCER 2021 entails two LIVE and INTERACTIVE poster sessions with a steady stream of attendees listening to presentations, asking questions, and talking with presenters and attendees alike.

NCER 2021 showcases a fun Film Screening Watch Party with Film Producer Jeremy Monroe, Founder and Director of Freshwaters Illustrated in Corvallis, OR.

NCER 2021 features Mac Stone, a National Geographic Explorer and an internationally acclaimed conservation photographer, whose images help tell the complex stories of wetlands and wilderness through the wildlife and people who rely upon them.

NCER 2021 will not be boring. You will see people face-to-face. You will talk with colleagues and share your work. You'll be able to ask and answer questions and have free-form discussion about your presentation and restoration in general. Or introduce us to your pet iguana!

Please don’t assume NCER is going to be like any other virtual conference you have ever attended, because it won’t be. Here are just a few of the comments by attendees of the recent virtual Greater Everglades Ecosystem Restoration Conference (GEER): https://conference.ifas.ufl.edu/ncer2021/documents/NCER-2021-Virtual-Testimonies.pdf

Our mission is to not only bring you together with colleagues to promote the science and implementation of ecosystem restoration. Our goal is to provide a forum for you to connect, engage, and experience the camaraderie that is a hallmark of in person NCERs.

We hope you will join us!
