2023 was the warmest year since global records began in 1850. Our rapidly changing climate greatly affects millions of people and countless animals and plants around the globe. The changes include extreme heat waves, record-low temperatures in the US due to polar vortices, severe droughts, extreme floods, extensive wildfires, and longer, hotter summers. Unless we slow the rapid warming soon, the millions of people affected will become billions of people suffering due to escalating climate disruption.
During this discussion, learn more about efforts to slow down the effects of our changing climate, including the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which provides $339 billion to fight rapid warming. Discover how individuals, cities, counties, and states can leverage various IRA programs to collectively and individually reduce the emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases.
