Join native plant expert Carianne Funicelli for an early evening presentation about providing food and habitat for hummingbirds in your desert garden. We will explore 25 native plants that are beautiful blooming additions to your landscape.

The presentation will be online via Zoom, and there will be plenty of time for questions and answers. All participants will receive a plant list in bloom calendar format.

Carianne Funicelli is a well-known advocate for native plant conservation and restoration, and has conducted projects large and small throughout the region.  She designs, implements, and monitors science-based restoration projects in both urban and wildland settings, and specializes in developing applied vegetation ecology methodologies to support site-specific restoration prescriptions. Her most recent work explores restoration approaches and methods that maximize resources for pollinators, particularly through the thoughtful use of diverse native plant palettes. She is an Advanced SmartScape Instructor with the UA/Pima County Cooperative Extension, and has served on the Board of the Society for Ecological Restoration, Southwest Chapter, as the President of the Tucson Chapter of the Arizona Native Plant Society, and as the Wildlife Habitat Representative on the City of Tucson's Landscape Advisory Committee. She has worked in the government, business, and non-profit sectors over the past 20 years, and recently has started her own consulting firm, Strategic Habitat Enhancements, LLC.
