Watering Native Plants in the Desert

When

5 to 7 p.m., Aug. 9, 2024

Making the most of your wildlife and pollinator garden in the monsoon!

Join native plant expert Carianne Funicelli for an early evening dive into the many ways you can deliver water to native plants in desert landscapes, from passive and active water harvesting to drip irrigation, with a few other novel techiniques as well. We will then explore 25 native plants that are compatible with water harvesting earthworks. These microhabitats can become islands of diversity to support insects and birds as the climate continues to change, and with strategic plant choices you have the power to create refuges of diversity. Let's diversify our plantings to make the most of these opportunities to create resilient spaces within our urban areas!

The presentation will be online via Zoom, and there will be plenty of time for questions and answers. All participants will receive a plant list in bloom calendar format.

Sign up now and receive a packet of monsoon wildflowers in the mail as well as the link for participation.
